“Barack Obama Can’t Be Trusted, He’s An Arab!” (via rodneykingstrikesbck)

This is the first respectable action I’ve seen out of McCain in quite some time — but I’m afraid it’s far too little, far too late. The ignorance, racism and xenophobia found at a McCain/Palin rally is disturbing and sad, but it’s exactly what McCain’s strategists set out to create (hooray for ‘energizing the base’).

My fear is that, if Obama wins the presidency, the future discourse has already been poisoned by what has gone on so far. There are too many people now who hate (and I mean hate) Obama for completely illogical and fabricated reasons that we many never be able to come together and move forward.
